E-commerce Course Breakdown

What you will learn

This e-commerce course contains 25 lessons, jam-packed full of proven techniques and actionable strategies. I guide you through everything in a clear and simple way. Here’s your course breakdown of what I will teach you: (Click on the + sign to learn more about each lesson.)

Lesson 1 - Why E-commerce Stores Fail

90% of e-commerce start-ups fail in the first 18 months. This is a very scary statistic. In lesson 1, I’m going to take you through the main reasons why the fail and teach you how to avoid them.

Lesson 2 - Standing out from the crowd

A successful e-commerce business requires something special. In lesson 2 I will take you through a new process that will enable you to differentiate your business from the competition and generate more sales.

Lesson 3a - Finding the RIGHT customer

This lesson will guide you through a fundamental and essential step you need to get right with your e-commerce business – Your Target Customer. Ignore this and you will fail.

Lesson 3b - Creating the Perfect Customer Profile

In the second part of lesson 3, I will show you how to profile your target customer so you can target them with the right messages that will make them want to buy your products.

Lesson 4 - What Motivates People To Spend Money?

There is a reason why people buy products and it is usually driven by emotion. I will take you through how your customers make buying decisions and show you how to find out what motivates them to buy.

Lesson 5a - Converting Visitors Into Buyers

People don’t just part with their hard-earned cash on the first click of an ad, the first visit to your website or by seeing it somewhere. They take time to make up their mind and there is a vital process you need to understand. Learn what makes your customers buy and become loyal. There is a ‘special’ process here. Don’t miss this one as it is a vital part of this e-commerce course.

Lesson 5b - Your Strategy From Awareness To Sale (with Tools)

Once you know the process for gaining the attention of your customers and converting sales, you need to know about the marketing channels available to get in front of them. I will take you through an extensive list so you can forge your ‘plan of attack’.

Lesson 5c - My Suggested Strategy To Gain Awareness

Lack of focus is a killer when you are a small e-commerce business so I’m going to help you avoid that. I will give you an example strategy that will help to get in front of the right customers, gain their attention, capture sales and secure their loyalty.

Lesson 5d - The Power Of Your Blog

Many businesses focus too much on platforms they don’t own and can’t control which means much of their time, money and effort is wasted. I will show you how your blog can be an awesome tool for attracting customers and generating sales.

Lesson 6a - Boosting Store Conversion

Many web retailers lose valuable sales because they do not make customers feel safe when shopping online. No e-commerce store works perfectly unless you have the right information and trust signals in place to help customers convert. I’m going to give you a checklist that will improve conversion overnight.

Lesson 6b - Crafting Your About Page

Your ‘About’ page is a key page on your site because it tells your story and positions your brand. I’m going to make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to gain buy-in from your customers on this page.

Lesson 6c - Create An Effective Homepage

Your homepage is the most important page on your site. Make it too busy, people leave. Make it engaging, people stay, click and go further into your site. Learn what it takes to craft a highly effective homepage.

Lesson 6d - Creating Simple & Effective Category Pages

Category pages are often too complicated which means customers can leave your site before they even get to a product page. Don’t fall down at this stage. Learn how to create a category page that guides customers to the right products, improving conversion rates.

Lesson 6e - Creating Product Pages That Convert

Your product pages are your ‘money pages’. You’ve put in the hard work to get people there and you don’t want to lose them. I will teach you how to create a high-performing e-commerce product page.

Lesson 6f - Getting Your Checkout Pages Right

An average e-commerce checkout abandonment rate ranges from 60%-80%. Can you believe that?
People will leave a shopping cart for many reasons so I’m going to help you to create a checkout that limits ‘customer leakage’ and converts more sales.

Lesson 7a - The Importance Of Customer Data

You can’t grow an online business without a loyal customer email list. Many e-commerce businesses do not collect enough customer data and then fail to do anything with it. I’m going to teach you why collecting email addresses is so important and how it can transform your business.

Lesson 7b - How to collect customer data

There are many ways you can collect data across your e-commerce store. I’m going to show you how you can grow your email list faster which means you can also grow your sales faster.

Lesson 7c - How to use your email list to drive sales

Most e-commerce stores fail to use their data in the right way when someone joins their email list. The first 60 days are key to build raving fans of your brand. I’m going to show you how to onboard your customers in the right way so you can start generating creating loyalty and sales from day 1 – ALL ON AUTOPILOT!

Lesson 8 - Customer Loyalty & Retention

Loyal customers are the key to growing your e-commerce business. They are cheaper to acquire, they spend more and they can be worth their weight in gold. I will show you how to create loyal customers and get them to spend more with you.

Lesson 9a - Getting Your Pricing Strategy Right

Too many e-commerce stores discount too regularly or panic discount when things aren’t going right. This can damage your brand and cause customers to never buy full price again. In Lesson 9, I will take you through my top pricing strategies and tell you when is the best time to discount.

Lesson 9b - Creating Value For A Higher Price

The most profitable stores don’t change their price based on the competition and they don’t discount just to capture sales. They create ‘extra value’ for their customers. In this lesson, I will show you how to differentiate your products and create more value, so customers pay more for them.

Lesson 10a - Using Paid Advertising To Grow Sales

Far too many small e-commerce businesses through money at ads in the hope they will generate immediate sales. In many instances, they don’t. Paid advertising can be a business killer if executed in the wrong way.

In Lesson 10a, I’m going to show you how to approach paid ads, the purpose they play and how to make them deliver profitable returns.

Lesson 10b - Capturing FREE Visitors To Grow Sales

FREE traffic is what we all want as business owners. I’m going to show you a ton of effective ways to bring in lots of free traffic to your e-commerce store. Hold onto your hats for this one!

Lesson 11 - Bonus Sales Strategies

In this penultimate lesson, I have some awesome game-changing sales strategies to help you to get customers to spend more with you. Recover lost sales, convert more orders and reinforce loyalty. It’s all in this one!

Lesson 12 - Tools Of The Trade

Finally, to finish off this e-commerce course, I’m going to take you through the tools that I use day-in, day-out. These aren’t just e-commerce tools. They include productivity, sales tools, my favourite websites to get free stock photography and also a little bit of self TLC.

E-commerce Course FAQs

Who is this e-commerce course for?

This course has been created primarily to help small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses. It is also perfect if you are new to the space, and are looking for a comprehensive understanding of how to sell products online.

If you already have some experience in online retail and want to sharpen your skills, then it will also be a good fit for you.

How will this e-commerce course help my business?

Many online retailers are struggling because they don’t have the fundamentals and systems in place. That means they are constantly fighting fires, guessing and struggling to get results.

Maybe this is you?

The good news is that it really doesn’t need to be that way. If you get the right systems in place, results will come quicker and far easier.

This e-commerce course will give you a totally new perspective with your online store. It will help you understand why things are not working, how to get them working and how to make yourself far more productive.

Why did I create this e-commerce course?

I created this e-commerce course because I was fed up with seeing small online businesses struggle and ultimately fail. I saw that the problem was not the lack of effort, or even the lack of passion. It came down to a lack of understanding with how to sell, not knowing how people make buying decisions, and no focus on where to target efforts to grow their business in the right way.

There is a lot of information on the internet but most it is geared towards people who already have extensive knowledge of e-commerce, businesses with bigger advertising budgets or those people who want overnight success without putting any effort in.

I wanted to create something for people who may work on their own or with a small team, and have limited budgets. I want to help businesses that need that extra leg-up.

How do I take this e-commerce course?

Once you purchase the course, you will gain access to the full 25 lesson curriculum which you can watch and digest at your leisure. You will have lifetime access to the course so you can come back, re-watch and learn whenever you want to.

The course is hosted on Teachable, the world’s leading online course platform. Everything is safe and secure.

Once you have purchased the course, feel free to share the course with other members of your team. I want your whole business to benefit from the successful strategies I share.

How much does this e-commerce course cost?

The cost of this e-commerce course is just £300. It is packed full of knowledge, expertise and advice to help you grow your sales and create a profitable business.

My standard hourly rate for consulting is £70 per hour so this is a real bargain considering the amount of valuable information you will have access to.

All payments are made through the world-leading Teachable platform, are fully safe and secure.

There are many free or cheap e-commerce courses out there so why should I take yours?

You’ve probably heard the phrase, ‘there’s no such thing as a free lunch’. Well, there isn’t. Most free or cheap courses have been created to sell you something more expensive or they only focus on a specific area of e-commerce.

I’m certainly not saying they are not helpful but they are often not a good fit for your business and they are usually focused on buying ads to make money. This is risky!

What makes you qualified to give this e-commerce course?

I’m not claiming to be a world-class e-commerce guru but I do have over 20 years’ experience of selling products and services online.

My own digital marketing & e-commerce consultancy has also been ranked 1st on Google for the last 7 years. Not a bad credential for a web mechanic! 🙂

I have worked with some of the leading retail brands in the UK as well as many smaller ones. I have helped 100+ companies to grow their online sales to in excess of £70million. It’s hard to imagine what that looks like in reality. This course will help you to understand how the online sales machine works.

I have been down in the trenches to understand what works and what doesn’t. Since I venturing out on my own 10 years ago, I have been advising businesses on where to focus their efforts to grow their sales. I have a proven track record with many happy clients. 🙂
